Dear Students, Faculty & Staff:
Chicago land area is predicted to be hit with a winter blizzard beginning this afternoon (Tuesday ).
Please be patient with the snow removal companies and personnel as they will be working around the clock to keep buildings as clear as possible. Please take a look at the winter storm preparation tips posted by FEMA http://www.fema.gov/hazard/winter/wi_before.shtm
Dress for the Weather
- Wear several layers of loose fitting, lightweight, warm clothing rather than one layer of heavy clothing. The outer garments should be tightly woven and water repellent.
- Wear mittens, which are warmer than gloves.
- Wear a hat.
- Cover your mouth with a scarf to protect your lungs.

BIR to Attend Korean Education Fair in Seoul

On October 2, 2010 BIR will attend the American Education Fair in Seoul, South Korea. This fair provides a great opportunity for Korean students to learn about BIR's English and TOEFL programs, and receive literature about studying abroad. There will be representatives from BIR working at the exhibition booth and talking with students. If you have friends or family living in Seoul that would be interested in studing at BIR in Chicago, tell them to stop by the booth and chat with one of our representatives.
The fair is organized by the American International Education Foundation (AIEF). More than 30,000 students attended last year's fair in Seoul.

The 2010 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) will be held from September 13-18 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Don't miss the largest technology and manufacturing show in North America! Admission is completely FREE for BIR Students and their guests.

Badges that will give you access to the Student Summit and the show floor will be waiting for you. Your badge and registration is valid for the duration of the show.
Students wil have the opportunity to see all exhibits and to discuss professional careers in precision manufacturing and skills required to get there. Graduation students will be able to leave a copy of their resumes in a drop box inside the Career Development Center. Individual students who are not able to join our groups can register on-site using their BIR Student ID in the Summit area on the South Building Room S105.
